Laura & Kirk

While Kirk and Laura grew up in the same town, they never crossed paths until after college. The two met at a party one evening while out with mutual friends. Kirk made sure to ask Laura for her number before she left that night. Dating was effortless from there. For Kirk’s birthday a few years later, Laura began making plans for a trip to Napa. What she did not see coming was that Kirk was planning an engagement surprise during the same trip! On a casual wine tasting at a local winery, Kirk snuck along a gift bag with a surprise bottle of wine. When the wine bottle was presented to Kirk, he handed it to Laura. Hesitant to open it, Laura reluctantly read the label, “Let’s share this bottle of wine and the rest of our lives. Will you marry me?”
Vibrant color and radiant energy filled every space in this scenic wedding in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The ceremony was held at the Carmel Mission Basilica which provided a deeply romantic setting for the exchanging of vows and sun-soaked outdoor couple portraits. Later moving to the Tehama Golf Club, there is no moment without vivid color. Bougainvillea was the main inspiration behind the vibrant pink and red florals. These colorful bouquets hung from the ceilings, were woven into lanterns, arranged in colorful pottery, and even danced on top of their wedding cake. Kirk and Laura also constructed an incredible DIY seating chart display. Kirk and his family are farmers, and chose to incorporate their own family-farmed almonds as wedding favors. Elegantly, their display boasts the cheeky slogan, “You’re the cream of our crop,” constructed to greet their guests with delightful gifts.
